Since 1960, the Artemide group has been at the forefront of the international lighting world, taking pride in its Italian manufacturing quality and design and aiming to design lights which encompass a fine balance of form, function, innovation and efficiency, which is still being achieved worldwide today. Artemide has contributed to the history of the international design with product design classics as the Tizio (1972, from Richard Sapper), Eclisse (1967, from Vico Magistretti), Tolomeo (1989, from Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina) and Pipe (2004, from Herzog & De Meuron). In 1994 Artemide received prestigious "Compaso D'oro" career Award and European Design Prize In 1997.
